Dabs on Dabs

Truth or Dare??

Are they as scary as people say??

What Are Dabs??

Dabs are concentrated forms of cannabis. They are named for their texture, and the texture is indicative of the process used to create them. There are numerous extraction methods to create a catalog  of different dabs. Dabs are sticky and can be messy to work with, and can be a variety of colors: yellow, amber, brown, and even white.

How To Dab

They are consumed in a dab rig, e-rig—”electronic rig”—or dab pen. The process of dabbing is extremely hot and flash vaporizes dabs in the range of 400-600°F, whereas combusting or smoking flower happens at around 350°F.

What Type Of Device Is Used To Dab??

A typical dab rig looks similar to a bong—it is a glass piece with a chamber for water, except instead of a bowl for flower, a rig has a nail for dabs. Because of the high temperatures needed to dab, the nail is usually heated with a torch and allowed to cool to the right temperature before dropping in a dab. There are also pieces that plug into an outlet and even portable & rechargable ones. There are several styles of pens available at many different price points.

Always start small when taking a dab

As with edibles, when dabbing, start low and go slow. Don’t be afraid to take a tiny dab; you can always take another.
Every person’s body is different and will interact with cannabis in a unique way—our endocannabinoid systems all operate differently. A dab of a certain size may affect your friend just fine but may be way too much for you.
